There are so many questions these days and so many problems to endure. 2020 has been a difficult year. The Coronavirus and Race Protests-that-turned-into-Riots have affected our lives in big and small ways.

We’re quarantined, there’s no toilet paper, wine is for breakfast, and a burger costs $800.

Churches are boarded up just as we need them most. Friends and family are exiled from our lives, leaving us alone and depressed. Sports, gyms, and entertainment venues are shut down, so we have no outlet. We’re alone, morose, and questioning life.

But, there’s good news in that! Because, the volatility of the world makes us question the world, and that’s brilliant! Now, we get to focus on the one thing, the important thing: God.

We’ll never find solutions to our problems from people, places, things, institutions, governments, causes, or ideas. The sins of humans can never be reconciled by humans. Humans cannot fix the sin of the world and the sin of flesh.

Our only hope: Jesus. No matter how noble your cause, or how lofty your ideals, they are still wrapped in humanity.

Now, humans can do good; they can do really good, good stuff. Like, amazingly good stuff. Like, rushing into burning buildings rescuing small children or kittens kind of stuff.

And, they can also do the opposite. They can hurt and lash out; they can murder and destroy.

We cannot put our trust in humans. They will let us down every. single. time.

We must turn to the God. We must turn to the Bible, for it is there we will find our answers.

Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
    the Lord answered me and set me free.
 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
    What can man do to me?
 The Lord is on my side as my helper;
    I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord
   than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in princes. ~Psalm 118:5-9

Jesus is the only hope for everyone on this earth. He is our comforter and deliverer, and He is the only way to Heaven.
